At Darlinghurst, we delivered a bespoke outdoor living and entertaining space tailored to our client’s lifestyle. The project combined refined finishes, functional upgrades, and striking design elements to create a seamless indoor–outdoor experience.

Key features include:

Paved Entertaining Area – Existing pavers were lifted, re-laid, and regraded for improved drainage, with a relocated surface drain for better water flow.

Garage Wall Feature – A custom battened framework clad with corten steel strips and Axon panelling, integrated seamlessly over existing doors. Accented with vertical plantings and a sculptural water feature for visual impact.

Outdoor Kitchen – Smartstone-clad cabinetry with integrated storage, built-in BBQ, and a lush green backdrop supported by marine-grade wire trellising.

Water Feature Garden – A striking water feature, flanked by garden beds with layered planting and matching cladding panels to tie into the kitchen façade.

Lighting & Irrigation – Feature and mood lighting throughout the space, coupled with a drip irrigation system to keep the garden thriving.

The result is a sophisticated, low-maintenance outdoor retreat that blends texture, greenery, and modern design to elevate urban living.

Step into the allure of our Freshwater project, where every detail unfolds as a masterpiece. Witness the meticulous dismantling and removal of unwanted structures, creating a canvas of possibilities. The pool area underwent a breathtaking transformation, featuring a bespoke hardwood timber deck, seamlessly blending with reused glass fencing, the allure of an outdoor shower and a backdrop garden adorned with vibrant bamboo. Our outdoor room, a marvel of design, boasts a masonry block wall cladded with natural stone, a welcoming fireplace detailing a feature built in fire-wood open storage area, an integrated BBQ for al-fresco charm and Wood Paneling for the ceiling. Boundaries were reimagined with standard 1.8m high timber fences and an elegant aluminum fence for the Studio. The landscape is adorned with creatively designed gardens, while a luxuriant Sir Walter soft leaf Buffalo turf crowns the scene. This house was pokey inside and needed more entertaining space.

The cost of a builders extension was over captilising and way exceeding budget.

Landscape construction consisted of steel framed pergola/roofing, compressed fibro walls and hardwood timber screening/decking which brought costs down to almost 1/3 of the price and limited the approval plans and council processes.

This project showcases the complete transformation of an outdoor area into a stunning dining and entertaining space with a charming cabin centerpiece. In Stage 1, we mobilized to the site, removing waste and preparing the area with earthworks, retaining walls, and provisions for drainage and electrical systems. Concrete slabs were poured for the cabin, dining area, and pathways, complemented by backdrop screening and vibrant gardens. Stage 2 brought the installation of a beautiful 12m² "She Shed" Coastal Cabin, outdoor seating, tiled flooring, and a new awning. Final touches included turf laying, detailed finishes, and a meticulous pressure wash to complete this inviting outdoor retreat.

Areas of this property, garden and pool area were outdated in comparison to the architecture of the house built so these areas needed to be upgraded in order to match the house.

Pool area had limited space to use around the pool. The pool was shortened and completely upgraded with Himalayan sandstone and a water feature.

A modern carport was installed.

The rear patio had damaged/rotten substructure. It was demolished, redesigned and rebuilt eliminating the stairs, gaining one large lawn area.

Feature Grand Stairs were built from the front to the backyard enabling us to raise the backyard by 1.2 metres giving the client a view of the city/harbour - increasing the value of the property.

There was no access for machine /excavator and so had to be done manually. Installation of Merbau hardwood seating - keeping in theme with existing timberwork on wall. Slab to gain correct levels and finishes to supply and lay new Tiles. Supply and install a Decorative, seamless tile insert drain. Drain needed for general heavy rain and for washing area. Supply and planting of full gardens. Installation of Horizontally set Marine Grade Stainless Steel wire lines for trellis.

Complete Outdoor Revamp – From Safety to Stunning Finishes

This project transformed the space into a functional and visually striking outdoor area. The work began with safety preparations, including vegetation removal, dismantling an old deck, and installing barriers. Precision earthworks followed, clearing the area, excavating footings, and preparing for lighting and irrigation.

The construction phase brought the design to life, with expertly poured concrete foundations, masonry walls, drainage, and waterproofing. Stunning sandstone cladding added elegance to the walls and entrance which serve as both a structural and aesthetic feature, adding depth and sophistication to the outdoor space. A new, expanded Spotted Gum hardwood deck was built, complemented by sandstone stairs, low gardens, and sleek balustrading with stainless steel wire.

The transformation was brought to life with vibrant new gardens, Sir Walter turf, and thoughtfully chosen plants such as Syzygium Australe and striking architectural species. Subtle lighting installations enhanced the atmosphere, highlighting key features and extending usability into the evening.

This comprehensive Northbridge project involved a complete site transformation, beginning with land preparations, demolition, and waste removal. The team dismantled unwanted structures, cleared vegetation, and prepared the site with machine earthworks and leveling. Drainage and electrical provisions were installed, including trenching for pipes and conduits.

Concrete works laid the foundation for walls, stairs, and driveways, followed by masonry construction for retaining and garden walls, complete with drainage and waterproofing. Masonry work added elegance with rendered finishes, and new tiling revitalized stairs, paths, and the driveway. Landscaping included garden restoration, turf installation, and pathway enhancements. The project concluded with pool area repairs, waste removal, and detailed finishing touches.

Hunters Hill knocked down and rebuilt their home saving the sandstone blocks from their pre-existing home.

These sandstone blocks had great sentimental value to the client so we re-used them for the driveway, path, walls, feature garden seats and herb garden.
